Selkirk Labs: The research & development division of Selkirk Sport pickleball

Selkirk Labs is Selkirk Sport’s research & development (R&D) process.

“Selkirk Labs isn't for everyone,” said Mike Barnes, co-founder of Selkirk Sport. “Selkirk Labs is for that player that wants the newest product, that wants to be at the pinnacle of technology within the sport, and really cares about their equipment and what it does for them.”

Selkirk Labs is a free membership program for elite pickleball players who want the next best pickleball paddle. The pickleball community can get a chance to test the latest pickleball paddle technology before it’s released to the public.

“We always want to make it better, faster, more consistent,” said Mike Barnes. “The goal is to create the ultimate pickleball paddle.”

Selkirk Labs is the independent R&D division of Selkirk Sport that focuses on creating new pickleball technology without limitation. Through Selkirk Labs, Selkirk can continue its mission of driving innovation in the sport of pickleball.

“We asked ourselves what would it take to make the craziest and most innovative paddles in the pickleball world, and Labs was the answer,” said Mike Barnes.

“As players ourselves, we are never satisfied that our products are good enough,” said Rob Barnes, co-founder of Selkirk Sport. “We want something better. We are constantly evolving and trying to find the next best thing to elevate the Selkirk brand and your playing experience.”

Selkirk Labs products are limited to club members only, who will give us valuable feedback that will help Selkirk create better paddles that may eventually become part of our mainline Selkirk products.

According to Mike Barnes: “With the Labs community, we have a chance to create any technology we can possibly dream of. Truly the only limitation is our imagination.”
